Below is an excerpt from the review found in the December 2002 issue of Power Source Magazine;
One of the very few Country albums I had the pleasure to listen to this time around includes Mark Claypoole. He starts things off with “Little Boys and Little Girls”. Mark sings it well. He continues to keep the same pace with “You Just Never Know” keeping the pedal steel and other instrumentation at a very low key. Probably the best cut on the album would have to be “Alone.” Mark’s voice begins to open up like a flower just coming into bloom here, and we begin to peek into what he’s all about. Monty Allen and Robert Author do a tremendous job writing here. It takes the fourth song “Along For The Ride” before Mark puts a little pressure to the gas pedal. Although he slows things back down with “Time Stands Still,” Mark weaves a nice story line here. The one thing I have to say here is that “Generations” reminded me a lot of my dad.
This Two-Step titled “Long Gone Blues” is about as traditional as one can get, and I absolutely love it! Mark’s voice could not sound better. Please, please, please... go record another album of material just like this song. You’ll find a fan base, along with a radio audience like you’ve never known before. The only competition he’d have out there right now would be Steve Holy (“Good Morning Beautiful.”) Mark comes along with the delightful ditty “Brand New Personality.” Ah... But enough of the fast paced songs. He slows things back down with “All Because I Fell In Love With You.” “Love Doesn’t Know How To Lie”. Mark gets back into the traditional Country mode with “I Don’t Feel Up To Feelin’ Down.” Take a splash of Alan Jackson, George Strait and just a pinch of Kenney Chesney and you’ve got the flavor of this song.
